SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Son. – A California company that manufactures medical technology has opened an assembly plant that initially will create more than 100 jobs for residents here, this city’s mayor said.
The Masimo Corp. opened the doors of its assembly plant, or maquiladora, in the city’s industrial park on Monday, Mayor Enrique Reina Lizarraga announced.
The plant will employ 150 workers, primarily on the production line, in the first phase of its opening, and could expand to create another 150 jobs over the next year. Ultimately, say company officials, the plant could employ up to 400 workers.
