The new Santiago facility will be a GMP compliant facility strategically located only 10 kilometers away from the international airport in Santiago de Chile. The depot will now undergo a meticulous validation process before it will be made available to clients in the first quarter 2014.

The Santiago facility is the third wholly owned and operated depot in Latin America and brings the total global network to eight. The company plans to complete two additional depots in Latin America before the end of 2014, one in Lima, Peru and the other in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Construction of both depots is now underway with anticipated openings in April and June, respectively.

“This is another important milestone for Marken. With our new facilities in Chile, Peru, Brazil, added to our existing depots in Mexico and Argentina, will be able to provide our clients with a total of 40,200 SF of GMP / GDP compliant space in Latin America and nearly 100,000 SF globally,” said Gerit Offenhauser, Marken’s Senior Vice President, Clinical Trials Distribution.

Marken’s current global depot network includes facilities in Argentina, Mexico, Singapore, Germany, China, the United States and Russia. All Marken depots are connected through the Solo IT platform, a state-of-the-art inventory management system that interfaces with our client’s systems for improved inventory reconciliation at the patient level.

Wes Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer of Marken said “We are proud to announce the continued progress we are making in the development of Marken’s pharmaceutical service depot network. Our expanded presence in Latin America ensures that Marken will continue to lead the way in providing complete service inbound and outbound, in a fully integrated logistics solution to our pharmaceutical clients.
