Latest Version of FUJIFILM’s Synapse® RIS and TeleRIS Now Available

STAMFORD, Conn., July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AHRA Booth # 902 -- FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A. today announced the commercial availability of version 6.0, the latest version of the company’s Synapse® RIS and Synapse® TeleRIS applications. The new addition to Fujifilm’s Synapse® medical informatics portfolio, version 6.0 includes support for Microsoft’s latest .NET Framework 4.0 platform, along with enhancements to the Synapse Communication tool set, and new features specifically designed for radiology groups. By upgrading to this latest version, clinicians and radiologists will enjoy an enhanced user experience and even better system performance.

“Whether hospital-based or running a practice, we know that radiologists are all looking for easy-to-use tools to enable higher productivity, and the facilities that are already using version 6.0 are reaping those benefits on a daily basis, " said Jim Morgan, Fujifilm’s Vice President, Medical Informatics. “A more productive radiologist translates into increased workflow, a better patient experience and ultimately an improved bottom line.”

Among the comprehensive list of advanced capabilities now available in version 6.0 are:

Web-form controls: More control of the individual graphical user interface is provided via the ability to modify the appearance and placement of the application options and icons on the workstation screen.

Dynamic updating worklists: Data found on the version 6.0 worklists are now automatically updated within the system instead of relying upon a standard web-page refresh, increasing speed and improving performance.

Configurable home page: Facilitates the layout and appearance of desired application functions and creation of charts and graphs to display and monitor important stats such as productivity, exam status, fax report monitoring, patient wait time, low inventory items, and more.

Configurable radiology reports to referrers: Design customized layouts and templates including headers, footers, fonts, colors and logos for radiology reports that are sent to referring physicians.

Multi-day scheduler: Schedulers can view medical resources in a daily view, a three day view, or a weekly view, and when a re-schedule has been requested can drag and drop appointments to a new slot.

Enterprise hospitals systems including Valley Baptist Health System, an 800 bed regional center, located in Harlingen, Texas, and Aultman Hospital, an 808 bed hospital located in Canton, Ohio, are implementing the new version. An integrated component of the Synapse RIS products, and also available as an adjunct tool for Synapse® PACS users, Synapse Communications now includes updates to its instant messaging and critical results notification capabilities. Voice and video conferencing promote further interdepartmental collaboration. And with the Urgent Findings Reporting Module, users can now group critical result types together and, based upon the “type”, configure and require a specific action to occur both externally and internally. As with Fujifilm’s complete medical informatics product portfolio, version 6.0 for Synapse RIS and Synapse TeleRIS is designed to also run in a virtualized environment which is proven to lower hardware acquisition costs and reduce power consumption.

In addition to the Synapse RIS version 6.0, Fujifilm will also be featuring its full range of informatics products including Synapse® 3D and Synapse® Mobility at the 2011 AHRA. For more information on these products visit booth number 902 or log on to www.fujimed.com.
