TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2006--Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Kyowa Hakko) (TOKYO:4151 - News) today announced its first quarter results for the three-month period from April 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006. Net sales declined by 3.1% despite a strong performance from core pharmaceutical products and increased sales in the Bio-chemicals and Chemicals Businesses, but operating income increased mainly due to reduced SG&A expenses in the Pharmaceuticals Business.
