TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co., Ltd. (Kyowa Hakko Kirin) today announced its consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2009 (Fiscal 2008). Consolidated net sales were JPY460.1 billion, up 17.4% and consolidated operating income was JPY45.3 billion, an increase of 15.2% compared to fiscal 2007. Recurring income increased 22.2% to JPY46.4 billion. Net income decreased by 50% to JPY11.7 billion, as extraordinary losses of JPY21.5 billion were recorded due to valuation losses on investment securities, impairment losses and other factors.
