iCAD, Inc. Unveils TotalLook 8.0

NASHUA, N.H., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iCAD, Inc. , an industry-leading provider of Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) solutions for the early identification of cancer, today announced the availability of its latest innovation - TotalLook version 8.0. This latest version of iCAD’s state-of-the-art film digitizer provides women’s healthcare centers with important workflow and connectivity-related benefits that help with the transition from film to digital mammography and aid clinical productivity. TotalLook provides customers with a comprehensive solution for film-to-digital conversion that enables comparative image review on a single digital review workstation.

TotalLook 8.0 offers robust DICOM query and search capabilities that tighten integration with PACS and HIS/RIS, eliminating redundant patient data entry, minimizing errors and improving workflow. Additionally, the image compression option uses Intelligent Image Sampling and unique anti-aliasing algorithms to reduce file size 75% while providing excellent image quality. Image compression minimizes storage/archiving requirements and enables images to be shared more easily. A typical facility could save nearly 5TB of storage space annually.

“The TotalLook system helped our transition from film to digital because it allows us to easily review high quality digitized images right next to our digital images on our review workstations,” said Michael P. Cloutier, Manager of Technical Services at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H. “This has helped improve the quality of care we deliver and has made life easier for our radiologists. We are very much looking forward to the new image compression because it will reduce the load on our network and enable our images to be recalled much faster.”

“As the market adoption of digital mammography continues to rapidly increase, TotalLook 8.0 helps facilities transition to digital more easily and effectively,” said Ken Ferry, Chief Executive Officer of iCAD, Inc. “Workflow is critical in the digital environment and TotalLook allows the digitized images to be viewed quickly and with uncompromised image quality, improving the efficiency of prior year image comparison.”
