The first vaccine that prevents some cervical cancer-causing forms of the human papilloma virus (HPV) in women, may also stop men from spreading the virus and contracting cancer.Jennifer Mallory, a spokeswoman for Edelman, a New York City-based PR firm that represents Merck and Co., said the company is continuing to conduct clinical trials with the vaccine, called Gardasil, on males.
