(Hologic or the Company) (NASDAQ: HOLX), a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostics products, medical imaging systems and surgical products dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of women, today announced that it has appointed Christiana Stamoulis to the Company’s newly expanded Board of Directors. Ms. Stamoulis will serve on the Company’s Corporate Development Committee.
Ms. Stamoulis currently serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated, a developer of innovative therapies intended to improve the lives of people with serious diseases.

Ms. Stamoulis joined Vertex in 2009 with approximately 15 years of experience in the financial services and management consulting industries where she advised global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on strategic and corporate finance decisions. Prior to joining Vertex, she was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking division of Citigroup where she led the building of the firm’s U.S. Life Sciences investment banking practice. Prior to her role at Citigroup, she was at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where she spent the majority of her investment banking career. Ms. Stamoulis started her career as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. Ms. Stamoulis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Additionally, she holds a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management where she focused on Applied Economics and Finance.
