NEWTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Helius Medical Technologies, Inc. (TSX: HSM, OTCQB: HSDT) (“Helius” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) has accepted a submission from Helius for a panel discussion – “PoNS™ Therapy: non-invasive investigational cranial nerve neuromodulation to augment therapeutic interventions” - at ACRM’s 93rd Annual Conference (October 30 to November 4, 2016, in Chicago, IL)
“PoNS™ Therapy: non-invasive investigational cranial nerve neuromodulation to augment therapeutic interventions”
Helius is currently enrolling subjects in a pivotal trial for the treatment of balance disorder resulting from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) using the investigational PoNS™ Therapy. The ACRM Conference represents an excellent venue to present the scientific basis supporting PoNS Therapy as well as to summarize historical and evolving clinical data. Dr. Jonathan Sackier, Helius’ Chief Medical Officer, will be one of the presenters at the symposium. “Any innovative therapy that has the potential to impact a large patient pool, representing a significant unmet medical need, must be introduced at an early stage to key opinion leaders and practitioners focused on innovation in patient care,” said Mr. Sackier. “We are delighted that ACRM has accepted our submission and are further enthused that this symposium is well timed to coincide with our clinical trial activities.”
About ACRM: ACRM States that its mission is: “IMPROVING LIVES of those with disabling conditions through interdisciplinary rehabilitation research,” and that it “curates and disseminates world-class rehabilitation research in print (via its journal the Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation), in person (at the ACRM Conference), and online.” For more information, please visit ACRM.org.
