Appointment Confirms Harpak-ULMA’s Commitment to the Medical Device Industry
TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Harpak-ULMA continues to be a significant factor in the medical packaging industry and continues to commit resources to this market sector. As a part of this commitment, John Merritt has joined Harpak-ULMA in a business development role dedicated to medical packaging. John’s extensive experience in medical device manufacturing, medical packaging engineering, medical packaging materials, and packaging equipment, is expected to augment the success and traction that Harpak-ULMA has experienced to date.
With the trending towards fully automated manufacturing facilities, Harpak-ULMA’s vast knowledge has delivered successful installations by providing integrated systems solutions and John’s unique combination of experience will be invaluable to customers in the development of superior packaging systems that will drive down TCO and increase ROI.
Merritt explained, “I am excited to join Harpak-ULMA in the USA and look forward to renewing old acquaintances, as well as making new connections in the industry. Harpak-ULMA is recognized as a leader in equipment offerings as well as post-sales customer and technical support, and ULMA Packaging certainly has a significant presence and global recognition outside of North America. For these reasons, I believe the company is poised for continued success, and I could not be happier to be a part of it!”
Harpak-ULMA is a leading provider of fully automated packaging lines to the food, medical and non-food industries. Serving North America, the company offers Allen Bradley across all packaging platforms. Harpak-ULMA customers can standardize on components, controls & software, drastically reducing training and labor costs. Additionally, Augmented Reality is available on much of Harpak-ULMA’s equipment, again, decreasing costs and downtime.
“IoT, AI, machine learning, big data, predictive maintenance, and augmented reality are just a few of the ways that connected machines promise to improve packaging operations and reduce total cost of ownership but realizing those benefits will require nothing short of rethinking packaging automation. By forging closer ties with Rockwell Automation and PTC, we can create innovative solutions and deliver them faster than any company can working independently,” said Harpak-ULMA’s CEO, Kevin Roach.
Kevin Roach said, “I’ve known John for many years and have complete confidence that his knowledge and innovative thinking will be a great fit going forward. His experience at the likes of Tiromat, RapidPak, Rexam (now part of Amcor), and Oliver-Tolas will enhance his ability to recognize the best possible design for the customer.”
