EFS programme to be open to anyone in the West Midlands with technology-based idea that can involve a member universityThe innovative West Midlands-wide Enterprise Fellowship Scheme (EFS), pioneered by the University of Warwick and Coventry University, is to be opened up to anyone in the West Midlands in a unique initiative aimed at supporting the growth of technology and design-based businesses in the region.EFS has been responsible for the start of more than 30 businesses and has gone from strength to strength since the Universities of Central England, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Keele joined the programme in 2002. Applicants were then limited to current or former students and in most cases university staff as well. But now anyone with a suitable idea can come forward – although their proposal must have some potential benefit to one of the participating universities and any business created must be based in the West Midlands.
