GenomeDx Biosciences Receives Accreditation From College of American Pathologists

SAN DIEGO, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GenomeDx Biosciences, a leading provider of genomic solutions, today announced that it has received Laboratory Accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program began in the early 1960s, and is recognized by the U.S. federal government as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own laboratory inspection programs.

“GenomeDx is honored to achieve this prestigious accreditation from CAP and join the elite group of recognized facilities that meet the highest standards of excellence in clinical laboratory practices,” said Timothy Triche, M.D., Ph.D., chairman and laboratory director of GenomeDx. “As a company, we aim to capture the power of collaborative genomics to transform the management and treatment of cancer patients. CAP accreditation exemplifies our ongoing commitment to provide patients with the highest quality standards in accuracy, reliability and timeliness of test results.”

“Obtaining CAP accreditation further demonstrates the integrity of our lab, qualifications of our personnel, and the rigor with which Decipher Post-Op and Biopsy testing is performed,” said Doug Dolginow, M.D., chief executive officer of GenomeDx. “We believe our genomic tests, being developed in collaboration with the urologic oncology community through Decipher GRIDTM, facilitate better decision-making at multiple stages of prostate cancer. Clinicians utilizing our platform now have additional assurance that the results our tests will be reliable and of the highest quality.”
