Former President Of American Academy Of Sleep Medicine Joins SleepScore Labs’ Board Of Advisors

Dr. Nathaniel Watson of University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center to Provide Clinical and Scientific Guidance to SleepScore Labs and Help Further Advancements in Sleep Science

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SleepScore Labs™, the world’s most advanced sleep improvement system and solutions company, today announced the appointment of Nathaniel Watson, MD, MS, Professor of Neurology at the University of Washington (UW), Director of the Harborview Medical Center Sleep Clinic and Co-director of the UW Medicine Sleep Center, to their Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Watson will contribute his expertise to SleepScore Labs to help the company accurately measure and improve America’s sleep quality and advance sleep health.

Dr. Watson has over 20 years of experience in academic research and clinical practice focused on sleep medicine and recently served as president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. SleepScore Labs has engaged Dr. Watson to provide scientific and clinical guidance related to SleepScore™ by ResMed technology as well as SleepScore Labs’ product evaluation tools and services.

Dr. Watson’s research is heavily based on genetic aspects of habitual sleep duration and circadian rhythms in conjunction with the Washington State Twin Registry. He is investigating the impact of habitual sleep curtailment on the transcriptome as well as the relationship between sleep disorders and cancer risk and outcomes. He is also a strong advocate for prioritizing sleep in society and has made numerous appearances in the media stressing the importance of sleep and fatigue in the workplace, specifically regarding transportation safety.

Following SleepScore Labs’ recent addition of Roy J.E.M. Raymann, PhD, as Vice President, Sleep Science and Scientific Affairs, Dr. Watson joins SleepScore Labs’ all-star team of advisors, including Michael Breus, PhD., clinical psychologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Steven W. Lockley, PhD., Neuroscientist in the Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
