Better understanding of how a fish-rich diet helps maintain a low risk of heart attack has been targeted under a new study at the University of Edinburgh. It could offer further support for use of fish oils supplements as a heart protection tool. “We know that fish oils benefit the heart, but we don’t know how exactly how this process works. We intend to look at the action of both fish oil supplements and increased fish in the diet on the way the blood vessels of the body function,” said researcher Dr Jehangir Din.
