YARDLEY, Pa. – Eurand, a global specialty pharmaceutical company, recently conducted a webinar titled: “The $10 Billion Gap: Leveraging Taste-Masking Technologies to Meet Global Patient Needs”, presented by Troy Harmon, Vice President of Business Development, and Andrew Thompson, Vice President of Commercial Operations.

The webinar, which highlighted Eurand’s proprietary taste-masking technology platform, was hosted by Pharmaceutical Business Review, an online journal that attracts a subscription audience of more than 100,000 worldwide pharmaceutical professionals. The webinar offered an overview of taste-masking trends as presented by Global Data, a leading business information company providing business information, reports and services. Targeted to a global audience of pharmaceutical professionals, the presentation demonstrated Eurand’s leadership in the application of taste-masking technologies, with specific case studies highlighting formulation expertise across OTC and Rx products in a variety of therapeutic indications.

“Participating with both Global Data and Pharmaceutical Business Review gave us the opportunity to reach a global audience of pharmaceutical professionals who are seeking knowledge about product taste-masking,” said Thompson, who oversees Eurand’s pharmaceutical technology business outside of North America.

Harmon, who is responsible for Eurand’s business development, licensing, and commercial efforts in North America, discussed the applicability of Eurand’s taste-masking technologies to a variety of oral administration forms, including liquids and suspensions, as well as capabilities to address odor masking associated with certain drugs.

“The webinar was a great way to share our technology expertise and product successes in taste-masking, and to exchange information and interact with our customer targets,” said Harmon.
