MORRISVILLE, N.C., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- etrials Worldwide, Inc., a software and services company offering fully integrated, easy-to-use eClinical software for the clinical trial process, today announced that it has signed a technology transfer agreement with Omnicare Clinical Research. Internalizing etrials' eClinical technology will enable Omnicare Clinical Research to develop and manage the electronic case report forms and study databases used by their clients. The agreement will also add further value to Omnicare's offerings by providing clients with faster access to high-quality data while improving their ability to focus on the metrics that drive their high standards of customer service. In addition, once the technology transfer is complete, Omnicare's project teams will be able to leverage the internalized technology to quickly and efficiently deploy new studies.
etrials' [T3] In-Licensing Program incorporates two components, a subscription licensing agreement and the technology transfer program. Subscription licensing enables a company to take advantage of a volume commitment that includes training, project planning, comprehensive support and process modeling. Omnicare Clinical Research and etrials signed a subscription licensing agreement earlier in 2005. The technology transfer portion of the program consists of seat licenses for the set of tools, support, services and training that etrials provides its clients to internalize the software.
All of etrials' [T3] In-Licensing Program clients receive the etrials Designer tool, an easy drag-and-drop environment for quickly creating electronic case report forms while automatically building the backend database. Clients also receive a multi-tier training program that combines the best in instructor-led training with Web-based modules and testing. etrials provides clients with comprehensive technical support for all back-end tools used in building, deploying and testing the technology.
"As a leading contract research organization, Omnicare is strategically positioned to capitalize on the benefits of our technology transfer program and to fully integrate these tools into their clinical trial processes," said John Cline, CEO of etrials. "It is through both company's commitment to this partnership that we will be able to best improve the clinical trial process while at the same time making available to sponsors even more knowledgeable, eClinical-trained professionals for their important research."
