INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Eli Lilly and Company today announced that Jeff Simmons is being promoted to president of Elanco Animal Health, a division of Lilly. Effective January 1, 2008, Simmons will replace Pat James, who has held the position since 2001. As announced earlier today, James will assume the role of Special Advisor on Agriculture Corporate Development to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA).
Since 2006, Simmons has been Elanco’s executive director of U.S. operations and global research and development. He joined Lilly in 1989, at which time he was a sales representative for the animal health division. Since that time he has held a variety of leadership roles in Elanco, including sales management, international marketing, and geographic business leadership for both Brazil and western Europe. From 2003 to 2006, Simmons was executive director of Elanco’s U.S. operations.
