ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Drug Information Association (DIA) has been notified that Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will be unable to serve as this year's keynote speaker. In her absence, Dr. Bradley A. Perkins, chief strategy and innovation officer of the CDC, will deliver the opening comments at the plenary session on Monday, June 18. Dr. Perkins’ extraordinary 20-year career at the CDC has included the investigation of the anthrax attacks following 9/11 and establishing the CDC’s National Strategic Stockpile of drugs and other countermeasures, as well as the nation’s Laboratory Response Network.
