MANSFIELD — About 160 Covidien employees in Mansfield and the Czech Republic are facing layoffs as part of ongoing restructuring plans, the company announced.
A company source said this week that service-related jobs are being relocated to India and Costa Rica. Fewer than 100 workers in Mansfield would be involved, according to a company spokesman. The layoffs are part of a restructuring announced by Covidien last fall. Affected employees would be eligible to receive severance and job placement assistance.
