Corning Incorporated Deal With Becton, Dickinson and Company Includes $33 Million for Durham Building

The Becton Dickinson lab equipment building in Durham’s Treyburn business park now belongs to Corning Inc., along with the majority of BD’s Discovery Labware business. Corning (NYSE: GLW) had announced in April its plans to acquire BD’s Discovery Labware business for $720 million in cash, and the deal was finalized on Nov. 1, as noted in this news release. Included in the Corning deal was BD’s 174,000-square-foot light manufacturing facility in north Durham. The building was transferred to Corning this month in a real estate transaction valued at $33 million, according to Durham County deed records.
