WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. (NYSE: CRL) today announced that it has elected to defer guidance for fiscal 2009 until it announces its 2008 fourth-quarter and full-year results, tentatively scheduled for release on February 9, 2009. The Company, which last week said it had originally intended to provide 2009 guidance on December 10, said that it believes there will be greater visibility in terms of customer commitments and a more stabilized economic environment in early 2009, which will permit the Company to provide better guidance for the new fiscal year.
