Carestream Health Awarded U.S. Government DIN-PACS IV Contract To Provide Medical Imaging Management Systems And Services
Contract Includes Innovative Products That Facilitate Secure, Authorized Viewing and Sharing of Images and Information by Clinicians and Patients
ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carestream Health has been awarded a new DIN-PACS IV (Digital Imaging Network-Picture Archiving and Communication System) contract from the U.S. government with a potential value of up to $150 million in purchases of medical image management products and services for government facilities. Carestream has been providing products and services under a previous DIN-PACS contract for the past five years.
“Carestream continues to work closely with clinicians and medical staff at government healthcare facilities to equip them to deliver timely, personal care for patients and their families”
The new contract involves industry-leading healthcare IT products including Carestream’s Clinical Collaboration Platform (video link), Vue Motion universal viewer, MyVue patient portal and Vue Beyond management dashboard.
“Carestream continues to work closely with clinicians and medical staff at government healthcare facilities to equip them to deliver timely, personal care for patients and their families,” said Ludovic d’Aprea, Carestream’s General Manager for Healthcare Information Solutions. “We have a reputation for excellence in medical image management technologies, and our proven solutions are installed in commercial and government facilities in the United States and around the world.”
The company’s Clinical Collaboration Platform helps provide physicians with a comprehensive view of patient records that are stored on different systems, sites and networks. This platform equips those responsible for providing, receiving and reimbursing care with the ability to share and manage clinical data in ways that can help reduce costs and improve care.
Vue Motion is a universal image viewer that uses a web browser or information embedded in an EMR portal to provide easy access to imaging data and patient information by onsite or remote clinicians. With this viewer, physicians and specialists can review patient images and information and make clinical decisions using mobile devices as well as workstations.
Carestream’s MyVue is a secure portal that allows patients to play an integral role in their medical care by providing them the ability to view, share and store their own images and related medical information.
The Vue Beyond business intelligence and reporting dashboard accesses PACS data and provides managers with a real-time view of imaging workflows so they can enhance efficiency and reduce patient wait times.
Carestream’s new contract term with the U.S. government includes one five-year base period and one five-year option period.
