A Charlotte company will launch a $25 million clinical study in July for its medical device that monitors for congestive heart failure.
TransWorld Heart Corp.’s Soul Mate device will be the first to offer remote monitoring of the condition, says Dr. Charles Richardson, president and chief executive.
The company is a subsidiary of medical-device company TransWorld Med Corp., also founded by Richardson.
“It’s a whole new way to manage heart failure,” he says of the Soul Mate. “It’s going to save a lot of lives.”
