Campbell Alliance Workshop at Drug Information Association Annual Meeting to Focus on How to Become the Clinical Study Sponsor of Choice

RALEIGH, N.C., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Alliance, the leading management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, today announced that Gary Tyson, Senior Vice President of Campbell’s Clinical Development practice, will present a workshop at the 43rd Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Meeting to be held June 17-21, 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Mr. Tyson’s workshop, titled “Becoming a Sponsor of Choice for Clinical Investigators,” will be conducted on Wednesday, June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The workshop, which is part of the Clinical Trial Management/Clinical Supplies track, will discuss key factors driving investigators’ choices of clinical study sponsors. It will also explore tactics for identifying a pharmaceutical or biotech company’s strengths and weaknesses with respect to conducting clinical trials and developing a strategy for improving a company’s relationship with the study sites and investigators it values most.

“With so many clinical trials competing for the same patients, it’s critical that a pharmaceutical company do everything it can to be that study sponsor that sites prefer to work with-the sponsor of choice,” Mr. Tyson explained. “Companies that understand what’s behind an investigator’s or study site’s decision to work with a particular sponsor will gain a clear advantage,” he continued.

Mr. Tyson leads Campbell Alliance’s Clinical Development practice, which provides a range of operational improvement services to clinical development organizations within pharmaceutical and biotech companies and contract research organizations. Mr. Tyson is a veteran of numerous electronic data capture-related initiatives, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in process improvement, organizational design, and clinical development.

The DIA’s Annual Meeting brings together thousands of delegates from the pharmaceutical and biotech industries around the world. With 27 content-area tracks, more than 1,000 speakers, and nearly 400 sessions, the presentations are geared to attendees of all experience and functional levels.
