Advanced Cell Technology Inc., the Bay State biotech pioneer that was first to clone a human embryo, plans to move work to California, scientific director Dr. Robert Lanza said. In opening a lab there, the Worcester firm is responding to California efforts to become a center for stem cell research, mainly a proposed $3 billion, 10-year bond issue, Lanza said last week to Bloomberg News and The Los Angeles Times.
