This year’s conference focused on maximizing investments in biospecimens and addressed both the business and science of biobanking. Recognized as the largest biobanking conference in the U.S., the event brings together biomedical, biopharmaceutical and academic researchers, regulators, biorepository managers and service providers, all in an effort to facilitate sharing of information on the best strategies for effective use of biospecimens to support the advancement of scientific research.
As co-host, BioStorage Technologies provided tours of its state-of-the-art, College of American Pathologist (CAP) accredited biorepository and sample management facility. The North America facility is one of a select few biorepositories in the United States to be approved as a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF) by the U.S. Transportation and Safety Administration. As a CCSF, BioStorage Technologies is allowed to prescreen research samples prior to providing them to the airlines for shipment on passenger flights which reduces transport and delivery timelines of cargo to final destination.
