Bio-Optronics, Inc. Announces New President and CEO

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Bio-Optronics announced Thursday that a majority of the company’s shares had been acquired by Dan Kerpelman, who will be joining the healthcare workflow technology company as President and CEO.

Kerpelman brings over thirty years of executive experience to Bio-Optronics, a healthcare workflow technology provider with headquarters in Rochester, NY. The company’s product portfolio includes innovative workflow management and optimization solutions for hospitals, specialty medical practices and clinical researchers. Kerpelman plans to lead the company through an expansion of its current product offerings and into new markets both within the U.S. and Europe.

Kerpelman explained the decision to join Bio-Optronics by saying, “I’ve been seeking to leverage my multinational healthcare technology experience in a more entrepreneurial environment. Later this month, the company will introduce a new corporate logo, product branding scheme and website, emphasizing its focus on innovative healthcare workflow technology.

Dan Kerpelman has thirty years of professional experience, mostly in healthcare technology. He was recently CEO of the Societe Generale de Surveillance in Geneva, Switzerland where he led a $3.5B services company of 46,000 employees, including a life science division engaged in clinical research support. Prior to SGS, he was President of the $2.7B Kodak Health Imaging Group, and Senior Vice-President of the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. Dan joined Kodak after seventeen years with GE Healthcare, most recently as GM of the Global X-Ray business, based in Paris, France.

Dan is a member of the boards of the University of Rochester Medical Center, XCounter AB, eHealth Global Technologies, Inc. and VirtualScopics, Inc. He has an MBA from Northwestern University, an MS in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
