Thornwood, N.Y.: Carl Zeiss Microscopy, in conjunction with Scientific American Magazine, will be sponsoring Paleo Quest and the SharkFinder Program at the USA Science & Engineering Festival, April 26 & 27, 2014, in Washington D.C. Paleo Quest co-founders, pioneers of the SharkFinder Citizen Science Program, will utilize ZEISS Stemi DV4 stereo microscope systems at booth #1311. Paleo Quest is a citizen science organization that is composed of volunteers interested in advancing science, science education and public engagement in the sciences. Paleo Quest has licensed and supports the SharkFinder citizen science program. The SharkFinder Citizen Science Program is a STEM education program aimed at finding fossil elasmobranch (shark, skates and ray) remains in the Atlantic coastal plain of Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina. SharkFinder™ allows classrooms and citizen scientists the opportunity to search through highly concentrated fossil-bearing media to find and report shark fossils.
