Vitech Systems Group, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for benefits administration, announced today the appointment of John Specht as vice president of sales. Specht, who brings more than a 20-year successful track record of experience as a sales and marketing executive in the healthcare insurance, technology and pharmaceutical industries, will lead healthcare payer market sales.

Prior to joining Vitech, Specht was sales director at Trizetto Inc., where he oversaw sales to health insurers. During his tenure, he was recognized repeatedly with awards naming him a top performer and top producer of net new bookings. Previously, he was director of northeast sales at Ingenix, where he sold software and services to hospitals and insurers. He also was chief marketing officer of HealthBanQ Inc.; vice president of sales and marketing at Vertibrae Inc.; therapeutic sales specialist / federal account coordinator at ALZA Pharmaceuticals Inc.; and federal sales manager for Europe and eastern U.S. at Glaxo Inc., now known as GlaxoSmithKline plc.
