ANDERSON, Ind., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- A partnership has recently been formed between Community Hospital Anderson, Flagship Enterprise Center, Anderson University, and Triformis Clinical, Inc., to enable Community Anderson to become a leader in conducting clinical trials for the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. The organizations will partner together to develop a clinical research program providing pioneering medicines and devices that enable people to live longer, healthier, and more active lives. In addition, Triformis has agreed to become a charter equity client of the Flagship Enterprise Center when the facility opens in May, 2005. The partnership promises to have substantial economic impact for the community of Anderson and the State of Indiana as well as educational opportunity for students of Anderson University.

“Community Hospital Anderson is excited to partner with Triformis to bring pharmaceutical research to our community,” said Dr. Bill VanNess, president and CEO of Community Anderson. “It is rare to find research of this nature being conducted at a non-teaching, non-research based facility. We are pleased that Triformis recognized the high level of clinical quality being provided at Community Anderson. This partnership will bring new revenue into our county as Triformis establishes itself at the Flagship Center. We are looking forward to participating in this cutting edge research that will benefit patients not only in Madison County but potentially around the world.”

“I am very pleased that Triformis has found a home in Anderson by agreeing to become an equity client of the Flagship Enterprise Center,” said Charles Staley, CEO of the Flagship Enterprise Center and special assistant for Engagement at Anderson University. “The collaboration between Community Hospital Anderson, Triformis, Anderson University, and the Flagship Enterprise Center offers mutual benefit and enormous opportunity for this area of the state.”

“The new partnership evolving between Triformis and Community Hospital Anderson will not only provide a strong economic impact but will also benefit Anderson University students,” said Dr. Terry Truitt, dean of the Falls School of Business at Anderson University. “For students in the Falls School of Business that benefit will come in the form of internships, mentoring opportunities, and eventually, career track opportunities after graduation. This new endeavor will also help fuel the ongoing economic turnaround in the Anderson area. Economic growth will spur new job opportunities that will encourage high school and college graduates to stay in the area.”

“We are excited about the possibilities as we explore a relationship with Triformis and Community Hospital Anderson,” said Dr. Andrea Koepke, director of the School of Nursing at Anderson University. “A potential exists for student internships in drug related research through this new partnership.”
