CYPRESS, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TouchVision, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trinity Learning Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: TTYL) , announced today that Hunt Memorial Hospital District of Greenville, Texas has successfully deployed TouchVision’s VisMed suite of patient customer service software at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville and Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. The VisMed products are designed to improve patient satisfaction by providing patients and visitors with convenient self-service access to hospital services and healthcare education. VisMed enables the delivery of patient services and education throughout the hospital on a 24x7 basis without the need for additional administrative staff.
Greg Roche, CEO of TouchVision, stated, “This project demonstrates how software and technology are revolutionizing patient services and education in medical facilities. With VisMed, services are accessed via wireless tablet PCs, the hospital’s website, self-service kiosk terminals, and digital signs. We deployed a wireless network to enable patients and staff to use wireless devices to access services and information throughout the hospital -- including patient rooms. Our digital displays located at strategic locations inform visitors about current hospital information and events. Finally, we installed self-service kiosk terminals to provide secure access to visitor and patient services at convenient locations.”
TouchVision’s VisMed software suite includes Concierge for content management, PathFinder for facility wayfinding and directions, Surveyor for satisfaction surveys, Presenter for digital sign management, DrFinder for physician referrals, CareMail for patient e-cards, Educator for health education, Announcer for event calendars, and Internet access for a variety of patient/provider interaction. The Hunt Memorial installation, funded partially with a grant from the Texas Infrastructure Fund, is significant for TouchVision as it demonstrates the power of the VisMed platform to integrate and deliver information, education and patient services cost-effectively over a variety of broadband and wireless digital devices simultaneously.
Lisa Hill, Director of Community Relations for Hunt Memorial, commented, “We chose TouchVision to design and install our patient service information systems because they have the complete offering to fit our needs. Free standing kiosks provide touch access to health education topics, direct patients and visitors to destinations, look up doctor information and provide important hospital information. Our network of wall mounted flat panel digital signs gives us the ability to present real-time bulletins and important information while managing the content from a system administrator desktop. Soon nurses will have the ability to bring a wireless touchscreen tablet to the patient bedside and permit the patient to review physician directed educational material for procedures or treatments the hospital is providing.”
