PLANO, Texas, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation today announced that the company has reached an agreement with Orange, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health System (SJHS). Perot Systems will help extend the capabilities of Care ReDesign (CRD), a multi-year business and clinical transformation initiative by SJHS to improve patient safety and quality of care by infusing an optimal mix of engineered process change sustained with innovative technologies in the care settings.
Under terms of the agreement, Perot Systems will deliver specific resources to SJHS in four key areas of the CRD initiative: sponsorship and governance, change management, clinician adoption and benefits realization. SJHS will use Perot Systems’ clinical transformation expertise to drive ongoing quality improvements, develop strategies for increased clinician adoption and involvement, and support the transfer of knowledge to each of its fourteen acute care facilities.
As the health system prepares to accelerate the CRD program to reach additional facilities, Perot Systems will share best practices and methodologies to ensure each facility experiences a smooth transition into the program. Currently, four of SJHS’ hospitals in California are engaged in the CRD program, including St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Queen of the Valley Hospital of Napa, and Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa.
“The collaboration between SJHS and Perot Systems continues to build our synergies toward an improving-patient-care experience,” said Benjamin R. Williams, SJHS’ senior vice president, strategic innovation and CIO. “The two organizations share a belief in breaking the boundaries of status quo process to continually improve patient safety and quality of care in the communities we serve.”
“This is a significant milestone in Perot Systems’ relationship with St. Joseph,” said Kevin Fickenscher, MD, executive vice president of healthcare transformation for Perot Systems. “St. Joseph’s recognition of Perot Systems as a partner in support of its clinical transformation initiative is gratifying. We are proud to contribute to their efforts to enhance quality, promote service and reduce costs in healthcare.”
