As one of 14 presenting companies, each organization will have the opportunity to introduce its business plan and technology to venture capitalists and investors that represent almost $3 billion in investment potential. An impressive 47 companies from around the Southeast submitted applications to present at the conference.
The companies were chosen by a committee of investors, development professionals and medical device industry leaders from across the Southeast. SEMDA’s presenting company committee was led by Tom Brooks, partner, HealthCare Capital Partners; Tom Callaway, managing director, Georgia Venture Capital; and Gerard van Hamel Platerink, managing director, Accuitive Medical Ventures.
