PLANO, Texas, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation today launched Payer PERADIGM(TM), a new core administrative system for health plan administration. The release of the Payer PERADIGM system completes a three-year initiative intended to provide the health insurance industry with leading-edge technologies that help satisfy the relentless demands for enterprise information management, real-time healthcare transaction capabilities, and consumer-directed product support.
“The evolution of our health insurance technology software now culminates in Payer PERADIGM,” said Perot Systems Healthcare chief medical and technology officer Richard M. Pico, Ph.D., M.D. “We embarked on this path of research and development to achieve three primary goals: To further improve and maintain the configurability and scalability of DIAMOND(R) 950 software; to establish an advanced framework to support infrastructure services and Web services with the ease of plug and play extensibility; and to create a technology solution that health plans can use to support consumer-directed product and information requirements. The Payer PERADIGM software is intended to provide our industry with a 21st century technology, so that we may begin to experience the benefits of new data transmission standards, reliable wide- band Internet communications, and real-time information sharing beyond the walls of the individual organization.”
Payer PERADIGM combines a new Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework that is J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) compliant, new Web services interfaces that permit Internet access to the business logic of all processing modules, and significantly enhanced DIAMOND 950 business service components, with new Java-based business service modules such as Premium Billing, Customer Service, and an ITS/FEP component that is specifically designed to address Blue Cross Blue Shield requirements.
Mike DeMott, Perot Systems general manager of Payer Services says, “Payer PERADIGM is the technology foundation of our healthcare business unit’s growing Business Process Service. We can provide a fully implemented, locally hosted or ASP solution and combine it with full claims process services. We believe that the bundled technology and process solution will be viewed by the health plan market as an attractive value proposition and help plans to drive out administrative cost, improve processing efficiencies and bring a new level of product management that will support the complexities of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and other forms of consumer-directed benefit plans.”
“The significant investment we are making in Payer PERADIGM represents an important part of our strategic plan to become the leading healthcare technology and process services company,” said Chuck Lyles, president of Perot Systems Healthcare. “We are dedicated to providing solutions that will enable the healthcare industry to achieve the delivery of high quality, reliable and safe care to all consumers. Payer PERADIGM is the first of many new solutions that we expect will be emerging from PERADIGM Healthcare Technologies. The combination of our healthcare-specific technology, process methodologies and business services capabilities places Perot Systems Healthcare in a unique position to bring unparalleled value to our current clients and to the healthcare industry.”
