QUEBEC CITY, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - Opsens Inc. (TSX-V:OPS - News) today announced the launch of OPP-M25, the smallest micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS)-based optical pressure sensor available to the life sciences and medical devices industry.

The new MEMS-based optical pressure sensor measures 0.25 mm OD, which is much smaller than 1 French (0.33 mm) on the catheter scale. The new offering delivers reliable and accurate pressure measurement in cardiovascular and other critical applications where miniaturization is key to product utility. Small size provides for less invasive catheterization practices, which enables new practices that were not possible with conventional blood pressure measurement systems.
