Next Advance Unveils New Model Of High-Throughput Homogenizer; The Bullet Blender(TM) Blue 5 For Tough Tissue And Cells

AVERILL PARK, NY, February 19, 2010 – Next Advance, Inc., a manufacturer of laboratory instruments for the life sciences, announces the BULLET BLENDER™ BLUE 5, the newest addition to the BULLET BLENDER™ family of homogenizers. Using a patented striking technology, the BULLET BLENDER™ BLUE 5 can simultaneously homogenize 12 samples of up to 1g in size in five minutes or less. Homogenization can be tailored to a wide range of samples, from cell cultures to tough tissue, plant tissue, or whole organisms.

Users simply place cells or tissues, grinding beads, and homogenization buffer in 5 ml tubes, load them into the BULLET BLENDER™ BLUE 5 and then set the duration and speed. Samples remain in separate sealed tubes, without any intrusive probes, so unlike techniques such as sonication and dounce homogenization, cross-contamination is mitigated. Because the BULLET BLENDER™ BLUE 5 can process multiple samples in parallel, results are consistent, reproducible and cost effective.

At a fraction of a price of other high throughput homogenizers on the market, the BULLET BLENDER™ BLUE 5 can process samples just as effectively. Extract protein, DNA/RNA, small molecules and organelles from samples without causing significant heat build up seen in other homogenizer models. The new model includes Air Cooling™ to keep samples cool and prevent heating during homogenization when processing multiple rounds of samples.
