MicroStrategy Wins $3 Million Contract With European Medicines Agency

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MicroStrategy(R) Incorporated , a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that following an open public procurement procedure, the European Medicines Agency has chosen the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform(TM) as its enterprise business intelligence standard. The purchase of MicroStrategy’s software and services is valued at approximately $3 million.

European Medicines Agency (EMEA), based in London, is a decentralized agency that serves to protect and promote public and animal health through the evaluation and supervision of medicines for human and veterinary use. The EMEA has a coordinating role in the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products throughout the European Union (EU) using the scientific resources of the 25 EU Member States and the three additional European Economic Area States in a network of 42 national competent authorities.

More than 40,000 users including regulators, pharmaceutical companies and health care professionals analyze safety information for drugs before and after they are introduced to the market. The MicroStrategy reporting and analysis applications will be used for the EudraVigilance database and will access pharmacovigilance data residing in an Oracle(R) data warehouse.
