FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Managed Health Care Associates, the largest Alternate Site Group Purchasing Organization in the nation announced today that an additional 30 Long Term Care pharmacies, representing over 45,000 Long Term Care beds, will be added to their GPO membership base beginning October 1st 2005. All new members have joined MHA's GPO on an exclusive basis.
MHA's most recent membership growth has coincided with the creation of the MHA LTC Network for managed care contracting, a management reorganization in its LTC division, and the acquisition of the RxPertise Software Suite. Some of the largest Independent LTC Pharmacy providers in the country not previously associated with MHA's GPO have now chosen to join MHA beginning with the fourth quarter of 2005.
Doug Present, MHA's Chairman and CEO, stated, "The last several months have been very exciting at MHA. We formally launched the MHA LTC Network in mid April to address the contracting needs of the LTC pharmacy community in response to the new Medicare Part D legislation. We also re-structured our LTC management team with the promotion of Lou Livolsi and Michelle Templin to Regional Vice Presidents and the creation of a National Accounts team under the leadership of Terri Dicaro. Most recently MHA has acquired the RxPertise drug regime review software suite to aid our members' consultant pharmacists with their daily patient review responsibilities. We are very pleased with the results of our new business efforts this quarter and believe the Long Term Care Pharmacy industry is recognizing our ability to provide a total solution to their business needs. We will continue to do all we can to provide the best service and solutions to our customer base and address their changing needs as we move into 2006."
