MedCom USA Introduces New Web Based Add-On For The MedCom Terminal System

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedCom USA, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: EMED) , a leading provider of Healthcare and Financial Transaction solutions for the healthcare industry announced today that the Company is in the final stages of testing their Web Portal add-on for the MedCom System.

The MedCom Web Portal add-on will increase the efficiency of healthcare providers to process HIPAA compliant eligibility verification transactions, batch claims processing, claim status and a full array of financial transactions, including Patient Easy Pay, right from the PC desktop in tandem with the MedCom System Terminal. The MedCom Web Portal interfaces with any existing practice management system and runs on all common Internet browsers with HIPAA standard encryption. This expands the MedCom System market to larger practices that have invested large sums of money in practice management systems but are still challenged by the transmission and operational requirements of HIPAA regulations and self-pay solutions. This product gives the provider an effective and efficient way to meet HIPAA requirements in a compatible, easy-to-use quick format.

According to Bruce Weitzberg, MedCom's Vice President of Operations, "We have now developed a Web Portal that works in conjunction with our MedCom Terminal System and any provider practice management system. MedCom USA's niche market has now expanded. With the incorporation of the MedCom Web Portal, more providers will be able to access our gateways, creating more transactions, giving MedCom USA additional revenue streams. The MedCom Web Portal add-on will give providers the ability to send batch claims from any existing practice management system. The providers will have the ability to receive online reporting for all claims processed, including, acceptance, and rejection and resubmission reports. MedCom USA will be able to increase its claims volume and revenue from a wider healthcare provider market. Many of the larger practices have invested large amounts of money in their practice management systems. The MedCom Web Portal add-on provides functionality for the provider without requiring any upgrade or replacement of their existing practice management system.

"We anticipate the medical providers' office having both the MedCom Terminal System and the MedCom Web Portal add-on in the office, enhancing the practice management system, by increasing their cash flow and reducing their administrative headaches."

The MedCom Web Portal add-on will be officially released in the fall of 2004 to the healthcare market.
