MedAptus Adds Clinical Results To Its Point-Of-Care Solution Suite

SALT LAKE CITY, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- MedAptus today announced that it has bolstered the comprehensiveness of its point-of-care solution suite via the addition of a clinical results viewing module. MedAptus Clinical Results was developed to provide physicians with instant access to clinical data, via their mobile device, at any time of the day, from virtually any location.

MedAptus, a Boston-based technology company, delivers solutions that improve the revenue cycle, connecting an organization’s financial goals to physician clinical needs and the well-being of patients. Its flagship offering, electronic charge capture, supports coding and compliance at the point-of-care and has been repeatedly demonstrated by independent parties to yield significant revenue improvements.

MedAptus users are also able to manage daily schedules, review and retrieve patient demographic and history information, dictate notes, access medical reference material, and now, review test results. Clinical Results, accessible from any patient encounter via a single stylus tap, enables physicians to easily view clinical data whenever and wherever they need it.

“As a practicing physician, I am well-aware of the challenges facing busy providers. Information overload is a growing problem, yet most caregivers have no choice but to sift through multiple systems and paper reports in order to provide optimal care,” noted David Delaney, MD, vice president of business development at MedAptus. “Our Clinical Results module addresses the information overload problem by providing easy access to clinical data. For example, abnormal values and result trends are quickly visible. This allows physicians to spend less time seeking information and more time treating patients.”

A major strength of the MedAptus results viewing module is that it provides access to the complete clinic results history, as opposed to summary data or information from a limited window of time, from a handheld device. Also unique to the application is its ability to integrate and display results from multiple source systems. This comprehensiveness permits physicians to manage data from disparate sources efficiently, with a holistic view of the patient.

“I am particularly enthused about this offering because of its ability to positively affect physicians and the care they deliver, while simultaneously leveraging and extending an organization’s current technology investments,” stated Dennis Mitchell, president and CEO of MedAptus. He added that, “This is an incredibly exciting time for MedAptus. By adding complementary clinical solutions to an existing product base that has historically delivered very strong financial results, we are helping to power our customers’ EMR strategies in a variety of ways.”

The full MedAptus product suite, including Clinical Results, is being demonstrated at TEPR 2005, May 16-18 in Salt Lake City, booth number 111.
