LOS ANGELES, July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Pimentel, M.D., FRCP(C), FACG, Director, GI Motility Program, Professor of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Cedars-Sinai), announced today the program for the upcoming 2014 Global Outreach Symposium on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Dr. Pimentel, along with Ruchi Mathur, M.D., FRCP(C), Christopher Chang, M.D., Ph.D. and Ali Rezaie, M.D., MSc, FRCP(C)from the GI Motility Program at Cedars-Sinai,will present a one-day global educational symposium on IBS.

The IBS symposium is available on-site or via Webinar for this unique international event designed to educate and empower patients, families and health care providers. This program has been thoughtfully developed to coach and enlighten anyone who has dealt with IBS and/or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).To demonstrate how SIBO is detected, a live breath test will be conducted at the symposium.

The goal is to raise awareness and understanding of the nature and relationship between IBS and SIBO, and the ways in which research to protect and balance the microbiome may revolutionize the future management of IBS.
