Kevin P. Corcoran Named Executive Vice President Of The American Chiropractic Association

ARLINGTON, Va., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Chiropractic Association Board of Governors today announced the hiring of Kevin P. Corcoran, CAE, as its new Executive Vice President (EVP) effective Sept. 1, 2005. Corcoran will succeed Garrett Cuneo, who will retire as EVP on Sept. 30, 2005.

“After a thorough selection process, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Corcoran as the association’s next EVP. On behalf of the entire board, I want to express how excited we are to soon have Kevin at the helm. We look forward to him leading this association to new levels of success, which will benefit doctors of chiropractic and chiropractic patients,” said ACA President Donald Krippendorf, DC.

Most recently, Corcoran served 11 years with the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU); first as the association’s membership director, and later as its executive vice president. His tenure at the NAHU has been marked by great success, including unprecedented financial stability, increased membership, and the development of the association into one of the most influential voices on health care issues.

Among his many professional accomplishments, Corcoran has been included among the “100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry” for three consecutive years. He is a long-time chiropractic patient, and in fact, his father-in-law is a doctor of chiropractic.

Corcoran received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University, and in 2001 he earned the coveted Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives. The CAE credential is widely recognized as an indication of demonstrated skill in leadership, activity in community affairs and expertise in association management.

“The American Chiropractic Association is the premier organization for the chiropractic profession and I am honored that ACA’s Board of Governors has selected me to help lead the association into its second century. This is a great organization; I look forward to working with the Board, staff and members to take the greatest advantage of the opportunities before us,” Corcoran said.

“It is with a considerable amount of pride that I approach the end of my term as EVP of the ACA,” said Cuneo. “It has been a pleasure serving this profession and working alongside many phenomenal doctors of chiropractic and talented staff members. I believe that Kevin has the experience and vision to lead the ACA, and I look forward to working with him during the transition period.”
