PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Independence Blue Cross (IBC) President and CEO G. Fred DiBona, Jr., has named Donna O. Moore as Senior Vice President, Provider Contracting and Networks.
Moore succeeds John Zamzow, who retired in May following 13 years in the contracting role for IBC.
“We are very pleased to have Donna join our company,” DiBona said. “Her significant executive experience in the health care field, particularly in hospital and physician relationships and contracting, will enable us to continue delivering on our promise to members while meeting our obligations to providers, even in these difficult times of rising costs.”
DiBona also praised Zamzow for his years of work at IBC.
“John Zamzow clearly understood the important role that the health insurer plays in keeping access to health care as affordable as possible for as many people as possible. At the same time, he appreciated the pressures that face the providers with whom he negotiated every day. He faced those challenges head-on, with great commitment, sensitivity and integrity. We owe him a large debt of gratitude for his efforts.”
In her role, Moore will oversee hospital and physician contracting efforts, behavioral health, as well as the comprehensive programs, systems and services that IBC offers to support the provider community.
Moore was previously East Region Senior Vice President of Health Care Management at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. There she was responsible for network development, provider contracting and medical/quality management responsibilities in a tri-state region.
In addition, DiBona also announced the promotions of Robert McKeown and Mary E. Gaffney.
McKeown retains his title of Senior Vice President, Provider Contracting and Services, but assumes expanded responsibilities for ancillary services, risk and specialty program initiatives.
Gaffney becomes Vice President of Provider Operations with expanded responsibilities for behavioral health services and data reporting and analysis. She was previously a Corporate Project Executive for IBC’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance project initiatives.
Moore is active in the United Way and the Acorn Foundation. She graduated with honors from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY, with a B.S. in Psychology. She and her husband will be relocating to the Philadelphia area.
