Miami, Florida (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- As reported by ScienceDaily (7/29), in their news article, Young Cannabis-Smokers Aware of the Health Risks, that in a survey of 12,000 young men, it was found that they are aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse but continue to smoke marijuana and take illegal substances. Over 70 percent of the men surveyed who consume addictive substances say their knowledge of alcohol and drug abuse is good, which is a higher level than those who abstain.

Fortunately, many addicts who understand the harmful effects of substance abuse have been checking into detox centers such as South Florida’s Harbor Village. At Harbor Village, a 24/7 medically supervised detox centers, clients receive private alcohol rehab and can begin a proven step-by-step program to help them eliminate their addiction. Each client enjoys a luxury, state-of-the art environment where they are welcomed with upscale accommodations including a beautifully furnished suite with satellite television, 30,000 square feet of outdoor lounge area, spa, salon, massage and acupuncture services, nutritious, gourmet dining and the personalized support of a caring, attentive staff.

According to Young Cannabis-Smokers Aware of the Health Risks, researchers from the University of Zurich’s Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine examined whether young Swiss men knew about the consequences of being hooked on addictive substances such as alcohol, marijuana or other drugs.

The study found that alcohol abusers are far more likely to research information at the rate of 2 1/2 times more frequently than those who do not drink. Marijuana users research addictive substances five times more frequently than those who don’t smoke marijuana. “The search for information greatly depends on the substance consumed. Generally, consumers of addictive substances are more likely to seek information on addictive substances compared to abstainers,” explains Meichun Mohler-Kuo, a lecturer at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine.

“A drug or alcohol dependency is a serious problem that can destroy your health and cause you to lose everything. Contact a detox center such as Harbor Village and receive the care you need,” said Robert Niznik, Harbor Village CEO.
