MIAMI LAKES, Fla., May 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Fuse Science, Inc. (OTCQB: DROP), (www.fusescience.com) a consumer products and delivery technology company that is developing new, patent-pending technologies poised to redefine how consumers receive energy, medicines, vitamins and minerals is pleased to announce their inclusion as a sponsor for “Zoe Goes Running”, a mission by world-class runner Zoe Romano to bring awareness and funding to the World Pediatric Project (“WPP”), an international humanitarian organization that provides access to surgical and diagnostic medical care for children in Central America and the Caribbean.

In 2011, Zoe Romano joined an elite group of athletes who took on the challenge of running across the USA. She became the first woman to complete this mission unsupported, hauling 70 lbs. of gear in a jogging stroller and running 30 miles a day for four months.

This summer, Zoe’s not joining an elite group. She’s raising the bar, tackling something no man or woman has ever accomplished.

She’s going to RUN the route of the Tour de France. Not only is the Tour de France a race designed for cyclists, but they also don’t allow women to compete. Zoe is setting out to prove that anything is possible, and she’s going to do it all without the help of wheels or performance-enhancing drugs.

Why would she do this? Zoe believes each and every human is capable of achieving extraordinary things, and of using their passions to help change the world. She champions athletics as a firm platform for fostering this philosophy from childhood to adulthood. Zoe has teamed up with the WPP, and together with a filmmaker documenting her journey, she hopes to raise significant funds and awareness to benefit the WPP and the thousands of children who will benefit from its services in the coming years.

“Zoe represents more than just being a great athlete. She truly exemplifies what it means to be Powered By Fuse®,” said Rubin Hanan President and COO of Fuse Science. “She is attempting something that has never been done before. EnerJel, for muscle fatigue and recover, and ElectroFuse® to enhance hydration have become a critical part of Zoe’s training. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France, where women are not allowed to ride. With all the controversy over the past few years, Zoe wants to accomplish this event on foot, but all-naturally. We are so proud to be part of this journey with Zoe and to raise awareness for the World Pediatric Project.”

What lies ahead for her is 2,000+ miles along a scenic but grueling course. In addition to the staggering mileage, she will conquer elevation changes equivalent to three and a half Mount Everest climbs. She’ll start five weeks ahead of the peloton, finishing the day before them in Paris. To accomplish this task in eight weeks, Zoe will run an average of 30 miles/day.

Zoe and her organization’s goal, is to raise $100,000 for the which in turn will support the mobilization of at least four pediatric surgery teams who will provide surgery or diagnostic evaluation services for an estimated 350 children in the coming year. These are children who otherwise would lack access to the same care we are so blessed to take for granted in the United States and other industrialized countries.
