NEW YORK, July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Flagship Global Health, Inc. recently signed an agreement with the Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York to provide Flagship members with priority access to the hospital’s program for Diagnostic and Preventive Medicine. Flagship members will have access to Mt. Sinai’s comprehensive physical, a full day health evaluation which includes leading edge non-invasive imaging technologies and comprehensive tests to provide a total picture of a member’s health. Test results are processed and reviewed with the patient the same day.
“The Program for Diagnostic and Preventive Medicine will offer our members, particularly those living in the Greater New York Metropolitan area, with a unique opportunity to protect their health through an in-depth consultation with some of the nation’s leading physicians at Mount Sinai Medical Center” says Fred Nazem, Chairman and CEO of Flagship Global Health. “Furthermore” he continues, “We plan to offer our members similar annual health screening programs at other centers of medical excellence in the U.S. and in other major cities around the globe.”
“The faculty and staff at the Mount Sinai Medical Center are delighted to welcome subscribers to Flagship Global Health to the Program for Diagnostic and Preventive Medicine,” says Jonathan L. Halperin, M.D., Director for The Program for Diagnostic and Preventive Medicine. “This program provides the most comprehensive health screening available, including examination by a senior physician and a wide range of specialized tests and consultations. Among these are some of the most advanced tests available to detect disease at the earliest stages -- all in a single day in New York. It’s time well spent, since time is never wasted when used to preserve good health.”
Flagship members will also have same-day access to specialized tests that may be indicated based on their morning consultation, and receive detailed cardiovascular assessment, including risk evaluation, lipid and lipoprotein profile, electrocardiogram, exercise-echocardiography, peripheral vascular evaluation, carotid artery imaging, pulmonary assessment, including high- resolution CT imaging of the chest and pulmonary function testing. Furthermore, patients meet with specialists in ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and dermatology to check their vision, hearing, and skin. The results of all these tests and consultations are available for review by the end of the day, so members can discuss them with the Program’s physician. After the session, a confidential, comprehensive report will be sent to the member and to their personal physician.
“The annual examination is the starting point for preventative care,” says Ben Safirstein, M.D., Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Flagship Global Health. “It is done to identify risks, family illnesses as well as illness already occurring that have not reached clinical manifestations such as hypertension the silent killer, coronary artery disease, asthma and diabetes. Identifying these chronic debilitating illnesses and treating them early will prevent devastating complications such as blindness and amputation in diabetes, fatal heart attacks in young men, and stroke and permanent neurological deficit due to poorly managed hypertension. We are thrilled to be able to offer our members this exclusive service.”
