EuroSciCon Release: Returning to Science: Is it all Compromise?

Welwyn Garden City, UK: EuroSciCon, a specialist in communicating cutting edge technology and methodology in life science, has announced the full programme for its upcoming event “Returning to Science: Is it all Compromise?” taking place on 7th November 2008. This CPD accredited one-day workshop aims to provide an overview on how to successfully juggle a career and a family without compromising on either. This meeting will be of great value for women who have taken a career break and are looking to return to science, engineering and technology (SET).

The meeting will be chaired by Dr Maureen Cooper, former Director of the Scottish Resource Centre for Women in SET, Napier University, Edinburgh. Key topics of discussion set to take place during this event include: Managing your career break, top ten tips for returners to SET careers, career development via the maternity ward and how the UK resource centre for women in SET can support you in returning to a career in science. Other concerns about returning to work will be covered, such as advice on grants, interview techniques and rights as both a parent and a scientist.
