Enhanced Cardiology Associates Chooses NASA Technology for Next Generation Heart Disease Screening

NEW ORLEANS and HOUSTON, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Enhanced Cardiology Associates, a Texas based medical group, announced today it will begin collaboration with CardioSoft to bring ENHANCED ECG electrocardiogram technology to a network of heart disease screening clinics, beginning with a prime site in Houston's Galleria area. ENHANCED ECG is a new non-invasive method for detecting heart disease and following patients over time. The technology has been under evaluation by cardiology researchers at medical centers in the U.S. and Europe for several years. It uses advanced diagnostic algorithms pioneered by CardioSoft and originally co-developed with scientists at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The ENHANCED ECG test (E-ECG) is completely non-invasive and is performed in 5 to 10 minutes while the patient is at rest. It offers improved accuracy and predictive ability compared to standard exercise and resting ECG methods. It also utilizes the standard 12-lead ECG configuration and is easy and convenient to perform.

The ENHANCED ECG test simultaneously measures High Frequency QRS, T-wave Morphology, QT Variability, Heart Rate Variability, 3-D ECG, Signal Averaged ECG, and many other components of cardiac electrical activity, combining all results into simple, easy to interpret "SuperScores" that can help guide clinical management at notably reduced expense. Test results can be stored digitally for follow up comparison at yearly or biyearly screening intervals.
