The First Pan Arab Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies Conference (PATH-2015) will be officially inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammad Bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Secretary General of Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation (SBKF) in Abu Dhabi at 5:00 p.m. on 19th November 2015, at the Dusit Thani Hotel.

The Emirates Hematology Society of the Emirates Medical Association is organizing PATH-2015 between 19th and 21st November 2015 under the auspices of HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian & Scientific Foundation (SBKF) and the Sultan Bin Khalifa International Thalassemia Award (SITA) and in collaboration with the Emirates Thalassemia Society.
The scientific agenda will include an in-depth scientific program covering a range of sub-specialty areas in Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies. Furthermore, this important event will be preceded by the second term of the SITA Award Ceremony, to honor individuals and group efforts that have made substantial contributions in the field of Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies.

The Emirates Society of Haematology was formed in July of 2009, as a subspecialty society of the Emirates Medical Association. The Society works to foster the specialty of Haematology in the UAE and form links with colleagues in the UAE and the international Haematology community.
The attention is focused on improvement in quality of care for patients suffering from conditions prevalent throughout UAE. The Society strives to create and develop continuing medical education opportunities for the members, determine their training needs and introduce structured postgraduate education in the field of Hematology.
