DTT integrates the latest research that combines the use of distraction and education simultaneously which has been proven to significantly reduce the stress and anxiety that can come before or after a medical procedure. ditto lite uses augmented realty, a multi-modal sensory-based distraction medium of technology and therapy. Instead of encouraging a child to simply watch a video, ditto lite engages the patient using its interactive touch screen and response to physical movement within the device.
The ditto lite looks a lot like a traditional video game console and includes a variety of pre-procedural preparation tools, interactive games and stories. The handheld device is easy-to-operate for children of varying ages. Unlike commercial video games, ditto lite was created based on research proven to reduce stress and anxiety, reduce treatment times, and improve patient outcomes.
“We’re excited to be able to offer a lower cost option to hospitals who might not need the waterproof capabilities of our original ditto device,” says Rob Sale, President of DTT. “ditto lite is also perfectly suited for Child Life teams.”
The device is available now and DTT will formally debut the ditto lite at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference in New OrleansOctober 20-23. “We’re looking forward to showing our device to over 12,000 of the leading pediatric staff in the United States. We have had great feedback so far,” Rob Sale added.
